Property Description

Atchafalaya Oaks is a private guest suite located inside my private home, circa 1877.  The property derives its name from the two giant live oak trees located on the property.  In fact, the tree in the backyard, which shelters the guest suite, spans the entire yard and provides a marvelous sense of peace and serenity.  And of course, its shade is welcome on those hot summer days and nights!

We are situated right on the outskirts of the historic district, so we are a short walk to downtown shopping, dining, and historic Lawrence Park, and just a few blocks away from the Atchafalaya River, which flows out into the Gulf of Mexico.  My home is on the corner of Federal and Railroad Avenues, right on the Southern Pacific (now BNSF) rail line.  We are also conveniently located in the Cajun Coast, which is equidistant from Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans.  This makes us the perfect place to come "home" to for relaxation and day-trip from here!
